Friday, June 7 was the "Day of Unrest: HI HA HAPPENING." A continuation of an old provo tradition of gathering at the Lieverdje on the Spui in Amsterdam to express your frustration. About 40 people had gathered and there were several actions and statements. In Solidarity with the Orcas fighting back against the rich, pointing out the poison of endless scrolling on our phones and for collectivizing the van Moofs and Swap bikes.
After a few hours of performances and the orca attack on the police, the Lieverdje, the symbol of addiction once donated to the city by the tobacco industry, was set ablaze. Several swap bikes were spray-painted white that night. The cop arrested four people by stills this evening, one for burning the Sweetheart and three for defacing swap bikes. One person was released Saturday evening because their name was known. Right now three people are still in custody because they are still anonymous, it is expected that they hold them until there is a super fast hearing. Active arrestee support is being provided and everything possible is being done to get them released.
Later that night the Lieverdje was given square eyes and a phone stuck to his head.
