Olijfbomen staan in het centrum van de Palestijnse cultuur en spelen een belangrijke economische rol. Ze staan symbool voor vrede en veerkracht. Olijfgaarden worden generatie op generatie door gegeven, en de olijfbomen zelf worden vaak vele honderden jaren oud (tot wel 1500 jaar). In Palestina worden ze dan ook regelmatig uit de grond gerukt door zowel de Israëlische overheid als kolonisten. Een spiegelbeeld van het Israëlische beleid tegen de Palestijnen in het algemeen.

Door deze uitzonderlijke, in Palestina gebottelde olijfolie te (ver)kopen, worden democratische kleine boerencoöperaties in het bijzonder en de Palestijnen in het algemeen ondersteund. Tot nu toe zijn er al 69 flessen besteld. Doe mee!
