Op dinsdag 24 oktober organiseert GF! Schinveld een evenement bij de boomhutbol in het Schinveldse bos. Deze dag is vooral bedoeld om kennis te maken met medewerkers van de NAVO. Daarom zijn zij bij deze van harte uitgenodigd. Vanzelfsprekend zijn ook buurtbewoners, activisten en andere geïnteresseerden. Dus kom vooral langs, vanaf 14:00 uur bij de boomhutbol in het Schinveldse bos
Het feit dat Nico Trommelen op 10 september jl. in elkaar is geslagen door een militair uit de VS is een aanslag op het protest tegen de NAVO. Dit is geen juridische kwalificatie maar een subjectieve vaststelling door GF! Schinveld. Wij, en met ons velen, kunnen deze gebeurtenis niet los zien van het feit dat Nico al 35 jaar het boegbeeld is van het verzet van omwonenden tegen de NAVO luchtbasis Geilenkirchen. Nu ook wij tegen de NAVO protesteren is dit dus ook een aanslag op GF! Schinveld.
In een democratische rechtsstaat is het recht te demonstreren, zelfs als je een die rechtsstaat onwelgevallige mening verkondigt, een groot goed. Deze vrijheid staat echter altijd onder druk. In het geval iets of iemand poogt een mening met geweld te onderdrukken, mag daar nooit aan toegegeven worden. Dat zou een vruchtbare bodem genereren voor fascistoïde praktijken. Om die rede zal GF! Schinveld nooit de stem of toon matigen om wille van geweld of de dreiging daarmee.
Wetende dat er geen maatregelen zijn genomen, zullen worden genomen of kunnen worden genomen tegen deze gewelddadige militair uit de VS, wetende ook dat hij nog altijd los rond loopt in dit gebied en bovendien wetende dat er naarst hem nog velen duizenden militairen los rondlopen in dit gebied, is de situatie ontegenzeggelijk veranderd. GF! Schinveld gaat onveranderd door, maar sympathisanten zullen mogelijk niet langer geneigd zijn om zogezegd 'hun moeder en hun oude heer' mee te nemen naar dit bos.
Deze cirkel moet doorbroken worden. Nu militairen uit de VS niet gehouden zijn aan lokale wetjes kan GF! Schinveld enkel pogen hen te bewegen vrijwillig af te zien van geweldstoepassing jegens mensen die een hen onwelgevallige mening verkondigen. De enige oplossing die wij daartoe op dit moment zien, is een nadere kennismaking. Daarom organiseert GF! Schinveld op dinsdag 24 oktober aanstaande een kennismakingsbijeenkomst vanaf 14:00 uur bij de boomhutbol in het Schinveldse bos. Hierbij worden met name militairen uit de VS van harte uitgenodigd, maar vanzelfsprekend zijn ook buurtbewoners, activisten en andere medewerkers van NAVO en defensie van harte welkom.

GF! Schinveld hereby extends a warm invitation to all NATO personnel, especially those from the US, to come to our tree house art manifestation in the Schinveld forest. We would like to create an opportunity to acquaint ourselves, sympathizers and neighbors with you. For that purpose GF! Schinveld organizes a meet and greet on Tuesday 24th of oktober, starting at 2 o’clock afternoon’s under the tree house in the Schinveld forest.
The direct motivation for this initiative is a violent incident that happened on Sunday the 10th of September. A NATO employ from the US molested Nico Trommelen. He has for 35 years been a respected spokesperson for a neighborhood organization protesting the NATO airbase Geilenkirchen and the there stationed AWACS radar plains. Those 60 year old plains terrorize the surroundings with extreme environmental and noise pollution. GF! Schinveld is protesting the same misconducts. That’s why we experience this violence as an attack on our freedom of speech.
In a democratically legitimized rule of law the freedom to protest, even if an opinion is expressed which is somewhat uncomfortable to hear for some provisionally legitimized authority, is of central importance. This freedom is always under pressure. If someone tries to suppress an opinion with violence, one may never succumb. That would create fertile ground for fascistoid policies to strike root. Therefor GF! Schinveld will never mitigate its voice or tone under the threat of violence.
Knowing no measures have been taken, will be taken nor can be taken against this violant US soldier, knowing also he is still roaming around in this forest and knowing on top of that thousands more are roaming around, relations have undeniably changed. GF1 Schinveld will continue undiminished, but sympathizers may no longer tend to invite their parents, so to say.
This circle has to be broken. Because US soldiers are not bound by local law, all GF! Schinveld can do is hope to motivate them to voluntarily restrain from applying violence against people expressing a for them unwelcome opinion. Therefor the only solution we can think of for the moment is to acquaint one another. For this purpose GF! Schinveld organizes a meet and greet on Tuesday 24th of oktober, starting at 2 o’clock afternoon’s under the tree house in the Schinveld forest. For this day especially US soldiers are warmly invited, along with other NATO and defense personnel. Naturally neighbours, activists and sympethyseres are welcome as well.

Dutch citizenship course for US soldiers (English below)
De inburgering van militairen uit de VS faalt. Om die reden biedt GF! Schinveld speciaal voor deze doelgroep een inburgeringscursus. Helaas zien wij ons genoodzaakt, gezien de gefaalde integratie, deze in het Engels op te stellen. Voor militairen uit de VS die reeds een stapje hebben gemaakt in hun inburgering, is deze ook in het Nederlands beschikbaat.
Inburgering en integratie van nieuwkomers
De overheid vindt het belangrijk dat vreemdelingen meedoen in de Nederlandse samenleving. Bijvoorbeeld door te werken of een opleiding te volgen. De taal beheersen is daarbij een voorwaarde.
Verplicht inburgeren en Nederlandse taal leren
Komt u van buiten de EER, Zwitserland of Turkije voor langere tijd naar Nederland? En bent u tussen de 18 jaar en de AOW-leeftijd? Dan bent u verplicht Nederlands te leren. Dit geldt ook voor geestelijk bedienaren, zoals imams en predikanten. De taal leren is 1 van de onderdelen van de verplichte inburgering. Vreemdelingen uit de EER, Zwitserland en Turkije zijn wettelijk niet verplicht om in te burgeren. Nederlands leren is voor hen net zo belangrijk.

De falende integratie van militairen uit de VS heeft op 10 september jl. geleidt tot een ernstig geweldsincident. De onbekendheid met de Nederlandse normen en waarden heeft er toe geleidt dat deze militair en hem onwelgevallig mening beantwoordde met excessief geweld. Dat het in Nederland toegestaan is een mening te hebben en te uiten was hem kennelijk niet bekend.
Nu ook GF! Schinveld een mening heeft en uit, krijgen ook wij te maken met de negatieve gevolgen van de falende integratie. Bovendien willen wij niet alleen een probleem aanwijzen, maar ook oplossen. Daarom springt GF! Schinveld in dit gat en biedt een inburgeringscursus speciaal voor militairen uit de VS. We’d like to welcome all NATO personnel of United States nationality. In the Netherlands all guests are welcomed with a citizenship course. This folder offers you one tailor made for US citizens.
First off, you are home now. The word Yankees is derived from the Dutch name Jan- Kees. It was slur used by English settlers to dehumanize the residents of Dutch colony of New Netherlands. After the assimilation by the British names like New York, New England and New Jersey were chosen to appropriate your cultural identity.
Being home, I would like to invite you to seek out your roots. By doing so, you’ll soon find where your genocidal tendencies originate. We’ve invented that shit. Just to offer one such piece of history, the origins of Wall Street:
The colony of New Netherlands was conceived as a private business venture to exploit the North American fur trade. The Dutch in their days of glory, were successful by refining the art of divide and conquer. In the fur trade over the Hudson and Mohawk rivers for example, the Dutch traded guns for fur, purposefully offsetting local power dynamics to ignite a civil war. People from Manhattan Island were offered refuge north of New Amsterdam. But soon after that, the Dutch governor, Kieft, sent his men out there one night and massacred the entire population, an early Srebrenica predecessor. Few of them escaped, but they spread the story of what had been done, and this did much to antagonize all the remaining great nations against all the white settlers. Shortly after, New Amsterdam erected a double palisade for defense against its now enraged red neighbors, and this remained for some time the northern limit of the Dutch city. The space between the former walls is now called Wall Street, and its spirit is still that of a bulwark against the people. Hereby the pretext was created to depopulate (=massacre) Manhattan.

Welcoming you home, we’ll have to acknowledge our differences and similarities. We all come from distinctly different social, historical and cultural backgrounds. Without a thorough understanding of each other’s perspectives we’ll soon experience misunderstanding and clashes. Therefore it is essential we familiarize ourselves with each other’s backgrounds.
The Dutch will have great difficulty to associate themselves with your perspectives. Living in a colony is al but impossible to imagine. To know the land you’ve been born on is illegally occupied, the first steps you took knee deep in blood and tears, must be a trauma all but impossible to live with. Knowing this we’ll have to see why you do not understanding you don’t have any claim over anything you claim to have a claim over. Coming from such a background must somehow lower the threshold to initiate illegal invasions and mass murder. Initiating 143 military operations on foreign soil sins WW2 is hard to grasp for the Dutch.
On the other hand you’ll have to understand the Dutch have far from dealt with the traumas of our history. We created world’s first multinational company, economic bubble and crash. We were the first trans Atlantic slave traders end implemented it on industrial scale. We were the first to intergrade piracy, slavery, drug trafficking, genocide and pedophilia in our policies. So I’m sure you’ll find in us a great partner.
