Terwijl de initiatieven van burgers om vluchtelingen te helpen worden geprezen in de media, gaan de uitzettingen gewoon door. Op elk moment kan worden begonnen een permanente gezinsgevangenis te bouwen op detentiecentrum Kamp Zeist. Het is tijd dat hier een eind aan wordt gemaakt!

While civil initiatives to help refugees are praised widely in the media, the deporations of "illegals" still continue. At any moment a permanent family-prison will be built as part of the immigrant detention centre Kamp Zeist. It is time we stop this!

In de opmaat naar de staking van de politie op prinsjesdag weigert de Vreemdelingenpolitie sinds 20 augustus mee te werken aan de uitzetting van vluchtelingen, waarmee ze laten zien dat ze ook anders kunnen handelen dan naar een 'regel is regel'-moraliteit. Op 15 september gaan wij het ministerie van Veiligheid en Justitie blokkeren, waar ook de voor uitzettingen verantwoordelijke Dienst Terugkeer en Vertrek is gevestigd. Onze eis: stop alle uitzettingen.

De volgende dag (16 september) blokkeert de politie zelf het ministerie van Veiligheid en Justitie en zal er waarschijnlijk, zoals altijd, beter mee weg komen dan wij. Als de politie ons laat demonstreren op 15 september zoals wij hen laten demonstreren op de 16e, laat dat zien dat zij ook als medemensen kunnen handelen, en dat zij dus ook verantwoordelijkheid hebben voor het onbarmhartige en slechte beleid dat zij uitdragen. Als zij ons arresteren terwijl zij de volgende dag zelf ongemoeid hun eigen blokkade op kunnen werpen, brengt dit de ironie van een geweldsmonopolie opnieuw treffend in beeld.

WAT/WAAR/HOE LAAT?

Op Prinsjesdag (15 september) verzamelen wij om 12 uur voor Granny’s Corner in Den Haag voor een bakkie pleur. Om 13.00 geeft de elfde afdeling van de artillerie voor ons het startschot en BLOKKEREN wij het Ministerie van Veiligheid en Justitie.

BELANGRIJK: Het blokkeren van een ministerie is een daad van burgerlijke ongehoorzaamheid. Er wordt niet gestaakt in Den Haag, dus het zou kunnen dat je alsnog wordt gearresteerd. Er zal een arrestantengroep zijn en juridische ondersteuning. Doe je niet mee aan de blokkade, dan ben je nog steeds welkom om je steun te betuigen. De actie gaat alleen door als er minstens 50 mensen meedoen die bereid zijn het risico op arrestatie te lopen. Geweld gebruiken is niet de bedoeling.

Blockade of Ministry of Security and Justice – Stop Deporations!

While civil initiatives to help refugees are praised widely in the media, the deporations of "illegals" still continue. At any moment a permanent family-prison will be built as part of the immigrant detention centre Kamp Zeist. It is time we stop this!

As a prelude towards their strike, the police has refused to collaborate with the deportations of refugees since 20 August. With this action, they show they are able to deviate from the general “rules are rules”-mentality. To extend their strike, we will block the Ministry of Security and Justice on the 15th of September. This ministry houses the services responsible for the deportations. Our demand: Stop all deportations.

The next day (16 september), the policy will block the Ministry of Security and Justice themselves and will probably, as always, get away with it more easily than us. If the police allows our protest on the 15th, just like we allow theirs on the 16th, this will show that they are also capable of acting as compassionate human beings, and that they therefore also bear responsibility for the inhumane policies they enforce. If they arrest us, while they unhindered to block the same building the very next day, this illustrates the irony of their monopoly on violence perfectly.

What and where?

On Prinsjesdag (15 September), we will meet at 12 o'clock in front of Granny's Corner in the Hague for a cup of coffee. At 13:00h, the 11th division of the artillery will give us the signal and we will BLOCK the ministry of Security and Justice.

IMPORTANT: Blocking a ministry is an act of civil disobedience. The police in The Hague are not on strike, so it is possible that arrests take place. There will be a legal team present to support us in case of arrests. If you do not want to join the blockade, you are of course welcome to come and show your support. The action will only go ahead if at least 50 people join, who are willing to accept the risk of arrest. This will be a peaceful protest.
