Op dinsdag 22 januari waren er ontruimingen van barricades in het Hambacher bos. Het Hambacher bos ligt tussen Keulen en Aken, en werd grotendeels gekapt om plaats te maken voor een bruinkoolmijn. Vijf jaar geleden hebben activisten het bos bezet om de uitbreiding van de mijn te stoppen. Sindsdien wonen er mensen in boomhutten, en beschermen zij zichzelf en de bomen tegen de politie met barricades.
Bij de ontruimingen op 22 januari zijn negen mensen opgepakt voor verzet tegen politiebeambten. Gelukkig zijn vijf van hen inmiddels weer vrij, maar de andere vier zitten nu al anderhalve maand vast. Tijdens Dagcafé op 10 maart gaan we ze brieven schrijven om hen te laten weten dat ze niet alleen zijn.

Letter writing to the #Hambi4
On Tuesday the 22rd of January, barricade evictions took place in Hambach Forest. Hambach Forest is located between Cologne and Aachen, and a major part of it was cut down for an opencast browncoalmine. Five years ago, activists occupied the forest to stop the mine's expansion. Since then, people live in treehouses, and protect themselves and the trees form the police with barricades.
During the evictions on the 22rd, nine people got arrested for resistance police officers. Luckily, five of them have already been released, but the other four have been locked up for one and a half month now. On the 10th of March at Daycafé, we will write them letters to let them know they are not alone.
