Some highlights of what is happening in Turkey for the last two days (15-16 June 2013), please copy and share:
- Police harshly attacked everywhere and everybody with various chemical substances, rubber bullets and water cannons spraying water mixed with acidic substance in İstanbul. (15 June 2013)
- Infirmaries and hospitals were attacked and destroyed mercilessly, voluntary doctors arrested. (15 June 2013)
- Minister of EU declared everybody entering Taksim as terrorists and asked the police to treat them as terrorists. (15 June 2013)
- Media reporters were not allowed to enter the Gezi Park. (15 June 2013) Media reporters have not been allowed to record in İstanbul and in Ankara. (15 and 16 June 2013)
- Some members of the parliament were physically attacked by the police in İstanbul. (15 June 2013)
- Governmental figures have continued blunt lies, spreading spite and malice through the media. (15 and 16 June 2013)
- Municipality in İstanbul stops public transportation to stop people reach at Taksim. (15 and 16 June 2013)
- Families of those who have been taken under custody do not know where they are taken to in İstanbul. (15 and 16 June 2013)
- The thousands of people attending to the funeral of Ethem Sarısülük (who was killed by a police bullet) have violently been attacked by the police in Ankara. (16 June 2013)
- Municipality of Ankara has stoped public transportation services to avoid those to attend the funeral. (16 June 2013)
- Almost all of the international conventions that Turkey has been a party to regarding human rights have been breached. (15 and 16 June 2013)
- Many of the public services such as public transportation, and direct cash transfers have been mobilised to carry people to the AKP rallies in Ankara and İstanbul. (15 and 16 June 2013) "

Filmmaker Brandon Jourdan van de Global Uprisings filmreeks is net terug na twee weken in Istanbul. Op 20 juni 2012 zal hij in de Bollox over de situatie in Turkije vertellen maar vooral zal hij zijn filmbeelden laten zien. Zijn verzamelde materiaal documenteert een groot deel van de eerste twee weken van de opstand en bevat interviews met deelnemers aan de Occupy Gezi protesten. Terwijl Jourdan in Istanbul was werkte hij voor het Amerikaanse TV/radio programma Democracy Now. Zijn verzamelde materiaal zal worden gebruikt in een nieuwe documentaire als onderdeel van een online-serie op www.globaluprisings.org, met films uit onder meer Egypte, Griekenland, Spanje, Portugal, het Verenigd Koninkrijk, en de Verenigde Staten.
Filmmaker Brandon Jourdan of the Global Uprisings film series has just returned after two weeks in Istanbul. He will discuss the ongoing situation in Turkey and show his footage on June 20, 2013 at the Bollox. His collected material documents most of the first two weeks of the uprising in detail and includes interviews with participants in the Occupy Gezi protests. While in Istanbul, Jourdan was working for the US nationally-syndicated TV/radio show Democracy Now. His collected material will be used in a new documentary as part of an online series at www.globaluprisings.org, which include films from Egypt, Greece, Spain, Portugal, the UK, and the United States.
